There are many ways you can help the Wimalawansa Foundation achieve its mission in improving the health and living conditions of the poor.
Your support provides basic human needs, including (A) food and safe water, (B) sanitation and housing, (C) basic education, (D) preventative health, (E) sources of income to sustain families, and (F) promotes meditation, which changes lives in positive ways. This support
Provides essential food, shelter, and safe, clean water, alleviating hunger and minimizing diseases and premature deaths (decreasing morbidity and mortality).
Enhances and encourages basic education for needy children that will improve their opportunities for future jobs, increasing their earning potential and prospects. Educating at least one child from a family unit will bring enthusiasm and a positive cycle of further education of other members and neighbors.
Educates and provides local opportunities for children to break the poverty cycle.
Improves physical and mental health by preventative actions and healthful means.
Empowers women and encourages savings and planning to improve family sustainability.
Enhances the sense of stability and dignity.
Provides Web-based education and teaching programs.
Encourages and enhances righteous behavior and propagates
peace via meditation practices and other means.
Use your voice for change and help us alleviate poverty and gaps in education; provide safe and clean potable water; and prevent disease. Although alleviation of poverty is a central mission of the Wimalawansa Foundation, it is also important to change systems, policies, attitudes, and behaviors so that improvement in indices and empowerment, especially of women, can occur.
"Theories must become practices; commitments must become actions."
Volunteer with your local Foundation staff! We will assist you to find a local group you can join to volunteer your time and energy to build up communities.
